YOUR PROJECT

Give your project a clear, descriptive title.

THE PROBLEM YOU'RE SOLVING

This section helps us understand the community safety issue you've noticed. We're interested in your first-hand experience. You don't need formal data or statistics.

Describe what's happening, where, and who is affected, in your own words. e.g. Some locals won’t attend the community centre at night because the entrance is dark and there have been car break-ins.
This could be things you've seen or heard, conversations with neighbours, comments on a local Facebook group, or a show of hands at a meeting. Formal data isn't required. e.g. Several neighbours have mentioned it at our committee meetings, and it comes up regularly in our local community Facebook group.
We want to understand the community voice behind your application. e.g. Parents picking up kids from the sports club after evening training raised this with us directly.

YOUR SOLUTION

What will you actually do with the grant funding? e.g. We will install two motion-activated LED lights at the front entrance, along with some lower-level lighting mounted along the centre pathway and modify the garden to boost natural surveillance.
A short explanation in your own words.
A couple of sentences about who will do the work and any relevant experience.

TELLING US IT'S WORKED

If your grant is approved, we'll ask you for a short report within a month of the completion of the project. This is designed to take a few minutes, not a formal evaluation.

For example: fewer complaints, more people using the space, comments from residents, or reactions on social media. e.g. We'll ask regulars at the club whether they notice a difference, and keep an eye on our Facebook group for comments.

What we'll ask for in your report-back

A short description (a few sentences) of what you did.

Two or three before-and-after photos, or photos from an event or installation day.

Any comments, quotes or social media posts from the community about the change a few examples are great, no formal survey needed.

YOUR STORY

Optional, but helps us understand the human story behind your project.

Imagine explaining it to a friend — what's the heart of the story? e.g. For years, residents avoided the location after dark. This project is about giving our community back a part of their neighbourhood they stopped using.
